Default lm7 5.3 no hole for coolant????

Why is there no colant hole outlet in my 2004 lm7 or is i completly wrong???
Driverside ok passengerside no hole

Because all those slots around the cylinders are coolant passage-ways so apparently GM's engine designers decided They were'nt needed there .

my 5.3 is the same way, nothing out of the ordinary!

But the coolant cant circulate if it is like this the water cant go in and out of the same hole in the whaterpump.i am confused every other ls engine have this hole machined.
