Default What will I need to do this! Help!

Ok guys I happened upon a good deal for an LS7 cam and all the additional parts needed to make it work on my 97 ls1

Now before you all start saying its not worth the time for me to do the swap ect.. Just know that it makes really good sense for me to do this for my situation

that being said, Can someone tell me what would all the parts be needed to do this?

I want to make sure I have everything before I buy it

The Guy im getting the stuff from says he has everything but springs and pushrods.

Help me out here!

Balancer bolt. Cam change gasket kit. New oil pump while you're in there. Springs. Pushrods. Ls2 timing chain.

Wont I need some adapters and a new timing cover since the ls7 uses a cam sensor on the front?

Yes, you will need a harness adapter for the cam sensor which I believe lingenfelter sells. LS2/3/6 all share the same springs so the yellow or blue springs should work since you're LS1 has 1.7 ratio roller rockers as opposed to the LS7's 1.8 ratio. Your stock pushrods should work as well...hope this helps

You should call a sponsor like Texas Speed and tell them what you want. They'll find you a "LS7" level cam for your LS1 and recommend the needed valvetrain gear-chain, lifters, springs, etc.

YES, you'll need springs-the stock LS1 springs really suck.

Using an actual LS7 cam will require you to replace the front cover with a gen IV cover.

There's easier and more productive ways to do this.
