Default Can I delete knock sensor & EGR?

I am putting in an LS1 into a 67 Chevy Nova. I have a stand alone harness with a gm ecu and am running the motor with an LS6 intake manifold. I don't have smog restrictions so can I not use the EGR? Can I also not use the knock sensors as well? I know if I don't use these I would have to have them deleted from the ecu when I get it re-flashed. Thoughts?

Why would you not want to run the knock sensors? They don't effect performance by removing them, but will save your engine if they're working and needed to correct detonation.....leave them. EGR can be deleted and function properly and run fine... delete away

Yes I agree with above, do not delete the knock sensors but you definitely do not need the EGR.

EGR is easy to delete. You can delete AIR as well. If you decide to delete the cats, go ahead and kill EGR and AIR. It'll clean up the engine bay too.

Leave the knock sensors. No reason to delete them. It protects your motor from bad gas.

AIR, EGR can go away, but leave the knocks sensors, like everyone else said, there is no performance loss and they will save your engine if you every get crap gas.

AIR is the air injection into the exhaust manifolds. It is only used at start-up for a minute or two. It raises the exhaust temp so the cats start working sooner. Many people remove it as a weight reduction measure. Headers can be ordered with or without the AIR ports. The pump is not mounted on the engine so you most likely don't have it.

If you are installing 67 you won't need the AIR but you should get it disabled in the computer.

Any recommendations on a valley cover that doesn't have the knock sensor delete? Going with 102mm summit intake and need a valley cover

Which year is your engine? Gen III engines have knock sensors in the valley cover, but Gen IV have them in the side of the block.
