JY 5.3 cracked ring lands 1,3,5,7 with a carb
Any idea how only one side of the engine cracked ring lands with a carb? All four cracked between the first and second, and second and oil ring. Vic Jr intake, 750 blowthrough, EV hat with spacer clocked at 6:00. I'm fully aware of WHY they cracked, but why only the drivers side?

I don't understand how or why it did it only on one side with a carb on it. If it were EFI, it would be easier to understand.

I thought of that, but I can't find any reason that side would be hotter. Any idea what would make one side hotter ( temp) than the other?
Thanks for the replies guys!!

You stated you are using a "blow-thru" style carb? Is this on a N/A engine or FI? Take the carb apart, clean it and blow EVERY passage out. Also check to make sure that you have NO vaccum leaks on that side of the engine that is lean.

very strange considering you have the carb hat positioned at 6oclock. i also run a blow through setup. i would highly recommend running a wideband on both banks when you get it up and running and make sure your getting equal fuel to both sides
