the ls2 chain is a single chain thats aprox 50% stronger than the ls1. i thinks its plenty but call some speed shops for a 2nd opinion. ive been running an ls2 chain for 5 years with no problems.

Um building a 450 plus horsepower tire engine. At 40 bucks the ls2 chain is a great source. I just have nightmares about revving my engine high with a single chain so I'm just go dish out a 120 bucks for a double chaon. Either A Roll Master Or The Trickflow Double chain.

If you are killing chains you need to look at your balancer.

I like using single roller chains so I don't have to clearance anything, and I have an NMotion billet single roller set in my car. With that said, I have seen a broken single chain though.

I put a Rollmaster Double roller in... it's more work.

If I had to do it over, I'd do the Cloyes Hex-A-Just with the C5R chain... I'd definitely do a chain with billet adjustable gears.

I'd also invest in a quality balancer and timing chain damper. I have the ATI on mine with the Katech LS6 damper. Both of those will save your chain from breaking due to harmonics...

Jake, did you drill and tap for the damper or did your block have the provision?
