Default Where do you shift your stock bottom end?

I'm a bit iffy going over 6500 on a stock bottom end. Its got stock rod bolts and they're not getting changed, I've read that unless done properly its more hurt than harm.

I was planning on calling Martin at Tick with a 6500 rpm shift point in mind, anybody spin theirs higher? I'm not talking about SBEs that only see the track, my car is a daily driver. Trying to make good power without pushing my luck. And if possible, what cam your running and how long the power holds wouldn't hurt. Trying to get all my knowledge together for this can swap so I know exactly what I want.

I was shifting @ 6700 on my old setup but I have an 02. If I remember correctly, the pre 2000 ls1's had weaker rod bolts.

I shift my bolt-on ls6 at 6800. Rev limit is set @ 7k. I would not be scared to turn it harder if it was still making power.

I would be spinning it higher, but I'm in need of a fuel pump upgrade. When I convert over to a Super Vic/4150 TB, I'll be spinning to 8 grand. I do have ARP rod bolts though.

on stock internals, you are good to around 6800 safely...beyond that...its a roll of the dice.
in general, the stock Ls1 lifters arent any good past 6800 anyways.

Alright thanks for the advice, looks like I'll be doing a 6600-6800 shift point like I've been wanting.

Sounds good. Its an auto so I have no worries of missing shifts etc.

And stock limiter is 6200 with a 6000 shift point, I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I shift at 6600, but I think a good rule of thumb is to shift 200 rpm higher than where you make peak power.

Good god lol. I don't have the ***** or money for that. If she wasnt my DD id just throw rpm at her but I gotta rely on her. Plus I don't really trust the history of my car.
