What is causing this GTO to run slower?
So 2 cars...both same make, year and model. Both stock and yet one is a full 3.2 secs slower to 62.5 mph. WHY??
What are the things that would make a car run slower, to this extent??
Did a compression test, everything was fine. Spark plugs are in good condition and leads checked out using a multi meter and a continuity test.
If you didn't know how fast ls1s are supposed to be, you would think there was nothing wrong with the car. You would even think it was fast. But when a normal GTO is actually almost twice as fast...you know there's gotta be something wrong with it.
I feel bad for the guy cz he actually bought the car cz he liked how mine performed.
So what is the checklist. What should i go through?

I would take it to a dyno shop and have em put it on the rollers. There you will see exactly how much power it's making and a competent shop will be able to guide him in the right direction to repairing it if the number comes up low.
I'm assuming you're using GPS to do the timing, are you sure it's 100% accurate?
If you've riden in the car, does it actually feel slower?

@ JC316... Already changed the fuel filter so it can't be that.
@ Redtan... Can't be a tune cz there was no tuning done. As for the tires spinning, the tires never loose traction when you go WOT. So from a dead stop...1 2 3 go!...pedal to the metal (traction control off)...the car accelerates but tires will never loose traction unless they are on super smooth asphalt that is wet. Which is actually an indication that it is not performing like it should. Logically you would be able to deduce a poor 0-60 time from it not being able to burn rubber at take off.
@ Danieloneil01... No, no CEL. And we both have the same car. Both LS1.
@ RockinWs6... Judging by the rpm yes.
@ DREAMZ28... Tires are OK and similar to mine. Haonkook vs. Bridestone. Booth all season. Didn't use GPS, just the dash digital speedo and a stop watch. And yes it does actually feel slower. Also we raced a few other GTOs and my friends car lost miserably everytime (except one time...the other GTO musta been really F'ed).
@ RAGaines3... Trans fluid is fine as is the trans itself. Its doing its job nicely.
@ Garygnu...About 175k. Yes i know a lot. Will try the MAF cleaning but how to know if cat is clogged?
@ Poltergeist 02... Yes calculation is accurate. 1 mile = 1.6 kilometers.

Even when my car was stock, if I took traction control off and just floored it from a dead stop I would destroy even summer tires and just sit there spinning all day.
