Blowing Smoke out the exhaust, help
hi all
ive recently carried out an LS1 conversion on a MK2 Ford Escort here in Scotland, the car is now finished and road legal, been driving it over the past few days and have noticed that when i boot it i get a massive could of whitish smoke but then it goes away when i return to normal cruising and if i boot it again and again everything is still fine ???? also happened when i was in the garage when started from cold i revved it and got a massive cloud of whitish smoke (not black) but smelt like burnt oil, im a little concerned has anyone got any ideas or suggestions on what it might be ??
could it be over fueling when i floor it ? or worn internals, air leak etc etc ? it only happens once in a while not all the time
oh should mention that engine has sat for well over a year dormant
any help is much appriciated

Start up and after you floor it sounds like valve seals. Extremely unburnt raw fuel can appear to look like burning oil but it has a white screen too it, but you would smell it. If it smells like oil, it probably is.

been investigating this further
removed all inlet breathers from crank case and valve cover to check for oil, all clean but when i removed the intet filter ther was some oil just sitting in the TB, found this strange ! could this be comming back through the valve seals somehow ?
cheers

It was the rings. They were fried from years of nitrous. Just checked one of them. But I haven't messed with that short block bc I swapped it for a 4.8 when I was building my turbo setup
