Default Need Opinions ASAP!!

I'm wanting to do a budget build on a 4th gen lsx. I need to know how to get the most bang for my buck on a budget. I want to make 500-600 whp. I'm a newb to the lsx's. Ive done tons of research but cant make a definitive decision.

I want to make this power for a decent price, but also wanna keep my motor. I wanna go FI, but should i do a swap, or is 500-600 whp within 7000 rpm's safe on an aluminum block? Could i save money going iron block with a 5.3 lm7 bored and stroked to a 5.7 w/FI what?!

With the stock LS1 internals I would definitely keep in under 600 rwhp...more like 500-550 if you want to be really safe. With that said probably just doing a blower would be your best bet, or maybe a cam and spray

The only way to do it "on a budget" is with nitrous. Even then it will be expensive but not as bad as with a supercharger or turbo.

Check out the forced induction section. Plenty of 5.3s making that much power on forced induction, I would look into a forged short block personally for longevity. Depends on your budget I would go with a 370 LQ based engine for a solid foundation. There is no need for crazy strokers when going FI. Theres plenty of forged 347s with pro chargers making 700+ at the wheels.

I have heard great things about TMS short blocks. One guys engine blew and they replaced free of charge.

Budget and FI doesn't mix also so have a fat wallet. Basically plan out what you think you will spend and times it by 2. Or just use giggle gas as stated above. Also a lot of people shoot for close to a 9.5 to 1 compression for FI.

Well i mean i'd be using deployment money. My budget will be 10000-15000. Ive done tons of research on parts and stuff. I looked at the forged short blocks on texas speed. But for alot of FI power, iron blocks are best. But ive seen a few threads on here about FI and the ls1's can do it, but idk. Id like to run a good $150 shot w/ about 8-10 lbs of boost. A forged lq4 short block would be smart. If i do iron, i want a bit more power due to weight trade off. Id want it to be a DD, if it had to be. So overall dependable and longevity are a must.

I just need overall clarification i suppose lol

Dude for 10-15k you can do a lot lol! Get yourself a good LQ9 or LQ4, forged internals, a good amount of boost, and you will easily surpass your 600 whp goal...and all for well under the amount you have saved

Iron blocks are stronger. But that doesn't mean an aluminum block can't do it. I've seen plenty of aluminum engines with 4 digit hp figures. Iron blocks are easier on the wallet though.

I wanna use an iron block (lq4) because the lq9's dont hand handle 243's cuz the valve sheoud. I thought about prc247 or 243 heads cnc'd. Get them ported. Run forged wiseco pistons. 1.7 rockers. Forged rings. 9.5:1 compression then throw boost
