Go one step at a time, the throttle blades are no longer available! check your IAC's 30-40. Having problems myself. Good luck.

Drilling the TB did nothing to correct my surging and shaky idle. LS1 Edit was the only thing to finally get the car running like stock again. There's still a slight shake to it with the AC running, but nothing like it was before (dying at stop lights, etc.).

Mine is drilled to 11/32.

Wow, I have a 7/32 now and my IAC's work ther way down to zero at idle. I thought that ment it was the hole was too big, but if you open the throttle a little it won't die. It seems to me that it's not getting enough air? I wanted to go to a larger hole but I'm not sure? Any help!!! Some times the car will start and idle fine. Most of the time if you restart hot you have to open the throttle or it won't run! give it gas for a minute then it will idle. Also dies if I come to a quick stop. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

What size cam are you using to go that large on the T/B hole size?

Both of you will probably need tuning to fix the IAC in relation to throttle position. Like I said, I had the exact same problems even with the 11/32 diameter hole until I got the car tuned. Drilling the TB may not correct the problems you are having (it didn't for me). The stock programming doesn't know what that cam is or how to deal with it properly (hence misfires, etc.). There is another adjustment on the throttle body that may help, and that's the idle set screw. Might try opening up the blade a bit with this screw.

7/32 - 9/32 I would think would be sufficient. I'm running a larger than average cam duration. MTI (Jayson) even suggested I flare the hole (funnel-like) on the throttle blade to make it more efficient.

Thanks, the guys are going to do a touch-up on the tune, I'm trying to learn as I go. I just don't like getting something done without understanding the principal of whats being done. It's going in on Wed. I'll post the results. Thanks Andy.

Here's an excellent thread on idle tuning:
