Default How bad is this?

Did a cam swap,started it with the timing off. Took off the heads to find this..

id be more worried about the valves and pushrods. You can sand down the high spots on the pistons

Going to change the 8 exhaust valves, no rods bent. What else should I worry about?

Lifters (at the rollers), and cam lobes if indicated.

how would you go about sanding these down? dremel tool or sand paper??

clean the piston tops off 1st with solvent .then use sand paper and a vacuum source ,to remove any sharp ridges on top of the pistons .what cam did you install ? and how ?

Just curious why you decided to start it with the timing being off?

Installation error, **** happens. We were up late , spent all weekend on it. We didnt install rockers and turn the.motor over by hand. Lesson learned.

Dumb mistake, but I'd be a liar if I said I've never done stupid ****. It happens haha, I'd say sand the pistons down with paper, do a check on valves and push rods and put it back together. Maybe time It first this time haha

Dont plan on timing it with a light, it isn't a SBC. Will install heads roll the motor over and go with it.
