Default Newbie windage tray question

I have a 2005 aluminum block 5.3 from a Silverado. It will be going into a '70 Corvette. I purchased what I believe is a Camero oil pan for ground clearance but the pan does not clear the windage tray originally from the truck engine. I am prevented from bolting it up by about 1/2" at the front of the engine by the truck windage tray. There is a plate screwed inside the base of the Camero's pan with clearance for the oil intake. So, does the internal Camero pan plate replace the windage tray from the truck set up or am I missing something?

I'm not an authority on windage trays but I know that my Camaro has one and it's not built into the oil pan.

Thanks for that. The front of the new pan is so shallow I have been wondering if the windage tray needs to be shortened for the back 3 mains only.

If you look up pictures of the F-body windage tray, you'll see that it doesn't cover the front 2 cylinders. You may have to trim your tray accordingly.

Nice looking motor mounts.

Is the OP going to need a different oil pick tube too?

Thanks,

That's a good question, I didn't pay much attention to the pick up tube when I had my LM7 apart. It might stand off the main caps more because the sump in the truck pan is deeper.

Thanks so much for the pictures. That clears up my next direction. I felt that was the way I had to go, but I really didn't want to cut anything until i knew for sure.

the truck pick-up tube will not work with F-body pan. The truck pick-up tube is longer and deeper. Here is a picture:

Thanks. I got the motor without a pan or pick up tube and I have a source for the tube but haven't picked it up yet. I was guessing that it would be particular to the depth of the pan and your picture confirms my suspicions.
