*pops bag of popcorn*

really though pictures make that kinda stuff look really bad. the tiniest nick catches light and looks huge.

I hope it works out well for ya. Changing cam bearings in-car is a pita I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Replace the cam bearings and oil the cam with some break in engine assembly lube before installation of the actual cam so your cam doesn't seat dry

Default do as you wish

but the cam brg is WAY softer than any cam! and will never scar a cam!!!

IF... you have ever installed cam brgs, you have to have a polisher to make em look good when your done, ask any reputable machine shop. how they do it

not some 13 yr old who read in online! and now knows EVERYTHING!
any scratches will bleed off oil (like a channel to let oil escape)
if the scratches are minimal, just use it,
but learn from your experience.

your cam rides on a film of oil, the lifters are trying to push it (cam) thru the bottom of the block, with out sufficient oil it would wear the cam brg quickly.

I agree with all of the other points you made.
I'd like to add that if the scratches run sideways..from the inside of the bearing toward the outer edge, then oil will surely bleed off the bearing and reduce pressure in that area. Those scratches that run concentric with the bearing, will not.

Well I have since completed the install. Started up perfect, runs and drives with no oil pressure issues. For a dyno/idle vid check out my results thread! https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...l#post18325468
