Question How many miles do you XE-R guys have on your valvesprings?

Just wondering how far they've been pushed with these aggressive lobes.

What springs and what cam?
What type of driving?
What tranny and rearend gearing?

Thanks!

Colonel, I don't have an XER lobe cam but I think the TR cams use lobes that are around the same. Here are my valvespring test pressures after only 4800 miles on my C918s. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/165867-c918-test-pressures-4800miles-tr224.html

Interesting. Thanks. I'd be interested in seeing how they would measure in another 4,800. Might be pretty much the same if the springs just "settle in" a bit to begin with.

Anyone else?

I had a 234/238 108 630/630 lift cam. 4600 stall 3.9 gears.

It did 15,000 miles befor it leta spring go. It had about 60 passes on it and numerous "spirited" drives, as well as lots of highway/town stuff.

They were ISKY doubles 1.4something diameter (I can't recall part number etc. Very near on coil bind too.

I use the Comp Cams Doubles now, still XER lobe, I'll just change @ 10,000 now instead.

That's alot of lift, alot of gear, and alot of stall. Sounds like you drove it like I do too. 15,000 miles?!? That's VERY encouraging! Thanks!

In some setups with some springs I would agree.

three main manufactures???? comp, crane, and isky maybe. Where in the hell did you get patriot? No offense to their heads, but my valves train parts will be left up to the people that are the leaders in valvetrain technology.

I mean "with some springs", just like I said. Some, meaning, "not all." Evidentally not all since V8 ute said he only got 15,000 miles out of his (which I think is pretty good considering his setup and usage.)

Don't forget Ferrera and Isky (that's what V8 ute said he had.) There are different sizes/types within these manufacturers too.

"I am saying dual valve springs!!!!!!!"

This thread is not limited to spring type. It could be singles or duals. All duals are not created equally.

What's with all the "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" anyway?

Do us a favor and dont post unless you have the information Colonel asked for. Im very curious as to the results of this thread, and no offense, but you have put forth nothing worth reading into this thread.

Well, thanks 54321, but let's try to stick to personnally owned "high performance automobiles". I'm not a big fan of secondhand information. Thanks.
