Nobody can help? This noise is driving me nuts. Pulled valve covers checked pushrods and springs all looked good. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks

Have you pulled the valve covers yet to inspect the rockers and pushrods yet?

If the pushrods & springs are all ok, it could be a lifter collapsed, rod bearing, wrist pin or main bearing. Hard to tell from the vid, sorry.

No misfire or other DTC's?

Run a compression and leakdown test to rule out pistons, rings & valves.

Yeah I'm in the process of checking passanger side right now. Car has good oil pressure driver pushrods were all straight and springs looked good. Springs I just gave a visual. The noise is def coming from top end though. What should comp be on the gauge and they all should be close I know. Doesn't sound like a rod it gets quieter when warm also but not gone.

No misfire or dtc's also what would cause a lifter to collapse outta the blue? And wouldn't that cause a skip or misfire?

Just bottoned back up pushrods and rockers nothing was bent or loose. Changed oil and filter to pennzoil synthetic 5-30 from mobil1 0-40. That seemed to quite it down alil. Took car out ran it threw the gears a few times everything seems great just still got that ticking sound coming from lifters under the intake it sounds like.Guess I'll just run it don't wanna pull heads to change lifters out when car has good oil pressure and runs good.

Are the knock sensors picking up the noise?

Are your fuel trims suddenly out of whack?

I would not run with a lifter problem...could hurt the cam, put metal in the bottom end and then you have scrap instead of an engine.

It's a lot of work pulling the heads to replace a bad lifter...but you gotta do what you gotta do.

...and for what it's worth man, it's pretty hard to tell what's going on from a video on the computer...I don't know where the sound is coming from, and I'm sure my speakers sound different than yours do.

Thanks mike. Wanna hear something funny but I switched to pennzoil synthetic 5-30 and the noise has considerable quited down about as quite as it was. When I was checking pushrods inside of motor had a lot of brown tarnish on everything. I wonder if the lifters picked up some junk in them? Or I read a leaking o-ring on the pickup tube can cause this? I would think that would screw with oil pressure wouldn't it? But anyhow a lot quieter right now.
