Default Comp or Summit rocker trunion kit

So what is the final word on the best, or safest rocker trunion kit in the aftermarket? The price difference in not in question since after you buy the install kit for the summit brand they're just about the same price. If you don't have experience with either kit please don't respond, I don't want to hear about what so and so told you. Or is there even a different company than the two of these with a better set up? thanks

"best" would be harlan sharp. The have oiling holes in the trunions and use large c-clips on the outside to captive the bearings as opposed to the small ones other brands used. But the cost a little over 200 bucks. Between the normal brands I would go comp or BTR

Thanks for the heads up, I was not aware of that kit. Sounds like they actually put some thought into it.

I also have the HS upgrade. It's just anecdotal but all of the failures I've seen posted were with Comp.

Use the ones from BTR. They're made from a higher quality steel than Comps.

Other than piece of mind that the factory ones aren't going to fall apart and go through the motor, has anyone noticed less valvetrain noise with any of these kits?

For like $240 or so you can send your rockers into Harland sharp and they send you back their rockers, installed to the proper clearances and all. I'm going that route when the time comes.

I have two seasons on Comp's trunnion kit in combination with a BTR stage iv cam and his springs. The trunnions are in great shape, no issues here.

I think im leaning towards the BTR set, I could be wrong but I would think a smaller company like that would take great pride in their product and have more attention to detail.

We do the trunnion upgrade for you. You can send us your rockers or pay a core charge and send us your rockers later for a refund or you can just pay outright the core charge. We clean these up nice to where they look brand new.

We've been doing these upgrades since 2011 with zero failures and 100 percent success.

I'd like to hear from Brian Tooley about how his trunnion kit is better and if the steel is better. I know Harland Sharp says that there trunnions are for serious racing applications only. Does this mean they are not as durable as the OE GM rockers?

BTR Kit or the CHE Bushed upgrade (which is $450 sending in your rockers).

I have the Lunati version. But they include new rockers with them. But the price was $250 when I did that. Now they are over 450. Your rockers are most likely fine, so the BTR kit would be the most cost effective way to do it.

I've got the Comps and so far, so good. Never heard of any negatives when I was buying them. I actually race my car; probably have over 50 runs on them with no problems.

I have Comps too and I'm about to install new springs, so I'd like to hear from Tooley about this. If his trunnion kit is better, I'll buy it and replace the Comps when I do the springs. His kit gives no indication of being better and looks the same as the Comps or Summit Racing trunnions.
