It took me about a week to get used to the power differences as they feel COMPLETLY different... but I wont switch back now! The top end is INSANE on the X3!
Think of it this way....
60s Muscle car feel - G5X2
Really Really fast european car - G5X3...
the X2 just comes in hard early while the X3 doesnt really hit until 2500-2600... but pulls much harder for longer! However both of these cams will make more low end then pretty much any other cam, and I have the proof for that as many of my customers have switched from smaller "Torque cams" to the G5 cams and gained low end. Dont listen to the LG haters and just try one! you WONT regret it!

Most people are getting the X3 on a 114. With the 112 you have to flycut the pistons, with stock unmilled heads that is.

My car has a little more shake in the motor than Mike's, due to me having 30k miles more than him on my motor mounts, etc. I am also idling a little lower than him, 100rpm. He is going to lower his rpms because my cars idle sounds meaner than his hehe j/k His car sounds f'ing incredible and when he gets on it, it sounds like a race car, totally amazing! Mike, we need to go get some vids of our cars and sound clips so everyone knows what we are loving so much
And I got the 114 on my X3, I had a 112 on my last cam, and this 114 sounds MEANER than that 112 Comp Cams did. I can't tell the difference, and would never go back to anything else!

let me know when you want to get some vids, it would be the perfect video too, you have the true dual setup and I am the Borla setup, what everyone wants to know, how each sounds. I may have to uncork the Borla though, that tiny plate makes awesome sounds, but that no plate, ahhhhhh yeah boy! Yeah even with the idle as it is, and I turn the A/C on it idles perfect, no surging, etc. GOD I LOVE THIS CAM! Every morning I start the car up, sit there and listen to the beautiful music, sometimes I will stand behind the car and listen to that **** rock, it's great!

Will the G5X2 & G5X3 work with stock '02 LS6 heads?.......The reason I ask this is because I'm considering getting the X2 and am getting a badass deal on '02 LS6 heads......

They work ok if you like having 420-430 RWHP, if you don't then maybe this cam isn't for you j/k dude, this cam works awesome with those heads, works kick *** with stock LS1 heads like I have. X3 all the way too!

-retainers
-pushrods
I've heard that it's good to do the timing chain as well, yes/no? Any other information would be great, even down to the smallest nut nd bolt.

I used my stock timing chain, I didn't want to pull the oil pan to get the chain off, etc no thanks The chain was in great shape, even with 82k miles on it, so no real need to get that. Just get new water pump and timing chain cover gaskets. Be sure to retorque the rocker arms, etc correctly. The most important thing is to MAKE SURE the cam is degreed correctly, that will kill your motor if it's off. Take your time and things will be fine.
Also, be sure to COUNT all the springs, retainers and seats, etc to make sure you have all of them there, I was shorted 2 seats, so we had to make 2 temp seats from washers that were the exact size and thickness as the seats, and Lou is getting us 2 seats as we speak, he said that the temp seats will be ok in the meantime.
