Default Cam Advice

I know everyone asks this but I cant make up my mind. I plan on doing a cam swap this spring but can't decide on which cam to go with. I will be doing mostly street driving and might visit the track once a year. I was thinking about going with the Torquer v2 but i'm worried that might be to much. I found the thread about the spartan cam but can't find where to buy the cam or what the lift specs are. Ive got stock 241 heads and a ls6 intake with kooks 1 7/8 headers. Anyone have any ideas on which cams would work best with this setup?

I have always been a fan of the SteetSweeper HT (228/232 612/600 111lsa) for a street car.

I did ALOT of street driving with the Torquer V2. IMO it is very tame cam as for drivability. It is not bad driving on the street at all. The cam itself LOVES top end. The set up it was running it would really pull hard at the top of third gear, and all the way through fourth. Really made good power.

Damian (screen name here) is the owner of Spartan Performance.

Anything in the 226-230 intake and 230-234 exhaust duration world will drive really well on the street. I'd definitely look at the 228/232 Spartan cam as it's ground on Cam Motion billet cores.

Do you happen to know the lift on the 228/232 Spartan cam?

I think ~.590 ish. He probably specs them depending on your heads. Cam Motion can alter any lobe for any lift.

Look into the Tick Performance Saturday Night Special grinds. Martin specifically designed these for daily driving, and weekend fun while retaining good street manners.

Check with the people who design/sell cams for a living when selecting a cam. Picking a cam by internet vote is nuts. Among the folks I'd call would be Josh at Spartan Performance. Josh will give you some recommendations for cams that are right for YOUR car, not everyone else's.

I'm running that cam motion grind. It was originally done with 4 different lifts. Damian seemed to like the .612 lift version which is what I bought. I know cam motion will grind you whatever you want but that was just a shelf cam that is now discontinued. Out of their newest lineup the Titan4 is the closest I've found to that popular Spartan grind. Here's my junk running with it:

Would I be able to run that in an ls1 still? Also would i be able to use single beehive springs or would I have to go up to double?

Yes, and you could probably get away with a beehive but I'd run a dual for piece of mind.
