Default Comp Cam XR265-15 With Blue GM Springs(12499224)

Im running Comp Cam XR265-15 212/218 Duration, .558/.563 Lift. I'm using LS6 springs(12499224) on 243 Heads. I been reading that those springs are good for up to .570 lift. But now I'm hesitating about keeping them on my car. I havent had the car dyno tuned yet, and I want it to be done right before I go to tune it. Im thinking that once I get my car tuned it will probably make peak power at around 6500rpm. I been reading that ls6 springs dont do so well at those rpms. Any suggestions?

A lot more to springs than lift. Buy matching springs not GM.

I'd put a set of PAC 1218's in it.

Thanks 99Bluz28. Just ordered some PAC 1218's from ws6 project. Should gone that route from the beginning. its going to be way harder to do the springs with heads on engine now.

Installed the new PAC 1218's yesterday. I should have done it when I installed the heads. with heads off only took me 30 minutes to swap the old springs to the blue ones I had. It took me 8 hours to put the new PAC 1218s.

I had a valve spring install go horribly wrong recently. I ordered the valve spring tool from summit. Went from a horrible PITA to 15 minutes per cylinder. With the heads in the car.

I used Tim's Valve Spring Tool. It was a nice tool for the $25 it costed me. Better than the ones you can loan at auto parts stores. The springs closer to the firewall is what took me the longest to install. I feel more confident now that I know my springs are able to handle my cam.
