Temp o-ring fix
Engine is quiet as a mouse now and oil pressure went up 10psi from 35 idle to 45 idling. Guess it worked, we'll see how long it lasts.
I tried this once before in my 02 formula and it worked good but the Formula wasn't leaking air as bad.
I know it sounds stupid but I just plain forgot about using the TransX in the Formula 5 years ago. That had the same troubles plus the oil pressure gauge would dance around. I put about 3 ozs in it one time shortly after I bought it with 28k on the clock, was still quiet @ 119k when my wife broke a utility pole in half totaling the car. <not a scatch on her, pole smashed the t top out drivers side and never touched her!
So it does work but just don't over do it, use 1 to 3 ozs total. I know of a few people that put the entire 15 oz bottle in their engines without any trouble but that's way overkill!.
I also use this stuff in all my floor jacks and all my power steering systems. In power steering I add 1-3 ozs. My jeep has 250k on it and the steering was starting to leak at about 180k, I put about 3 ozs in it and it hasn't leaked since. It a great product if you use it wisely. What I like about it is its not thick like lucas or bars leak etc.
I'd like for someone with a 200-250k mile truck or car that's starting to get lifter tap and low oil pressure to try it and post up their results. It won't help you if the oring is ripped or broken, but if its just old and wore it will!

Not quiet as a mouse, but 80% improvement. Thanks again. These types of things are why I love this site
I was hoping by now someone would come up with a real deal seal fix to replace this but no one seems to understand the amount of BS this oring causes. Its insane..........another thing no one considers is the present design with only one fastener allows the pickup tube to be constantly moving around causing even more wear to the oring....insanity!
Volvo has a similar design that is a nightmare.
And the real culprit is a 50 cent oring...can you imagine all the wrong work and BS this oring has caused over the years? Its beyond sanity!
