Why would you use those plugs over a BR7EF?

Sbe ls1 is what theyre going on, all I got to do today was some cleanup of the deck but didn't get too far. The factory graphite gasket was caked on and I need to borrow a vac to suck up all the debris. My brother was on leave all month so just spent a lot of time hanging out. Tomorrow after work gotta drop the pan and install the new cam and oil pump. Still need to take off the rocker stands, gotta figure that out with it damaging anything.

The fast was a cathedral, sold it on here about a month ago gonna run a factory ls3 intake since from what I've read it's not a big jump for the money stock to stock without porting to either. As far as plugs I wasn't really sure what to run after doing a search, just looked for a 3/4 reach gasketed plug and bought them locally.

I have never seen anyone recommend those. I would get some BR7EF plugs. Especially if you plan on spraying it.

Good call on intake. I too have seen same thing about the FAST 102 that's why I asked. I'm very interested in how this turns out. What rockers are you using? And if you feel comfortableenough could you pm me what you paid for the heads.

Br7ef plugs are .708 reach like standard ls1 plugs, it's not required but these heads use a .750 reach gasket style resistor plug, so in my mind they're the equivalent lol. From what I've read etp and mast heads like a colder plug, they also they require truck wires with the raised valve cover rail. Well see how they work out, gonna use ls3 intake rockers and stock ls1 rockers for the exhaust along with mast small bore rocker stands for stock rockers. I'll send a pm, have the receipts put away. Went with hollow stem intake valves and solid exhaust

Wait so the BTR dual springs can't be used with its regular parts that came in the box? You had to rebut the seats, retainers and locks ? Is this the ets 215 heads thay Mast sells ?

You mean ETP heads? To my knowledge, MAST bought the ETP castings.

These are small bore LS3's. Same ones I had. The springs themselves will work, but needs different locks and retainers.

Sorry guys haven't finished it hopefully Sunday it's all back together. To answer some questions no, the Btr drop in kit won't work with these heads. They use 5/16 stem valves not 8mm like standard ls1 valves. And they're quite a bit longer so the install height with a standard ls1 dual spring kit won't work. I used btr platinum springs, and seats/retainers/locks from ed Curtis at flowtech induction. .100 seats with .060 shim got my install height at 1.783 and 1.780 is the install height for Btr springs. And they are mast small bore ls3 heads not etp's. I'll make a list of what I'm using. Thanks guys

Good call on skipping the fast man it's just not worth it. Check out gpi or Rick Crawford though for porting an ls3 intake.... They add radius rods to the inside of the intake and on a bolt on car easily pick up 5/10 and more on cammed setups. Service costs right around 300 to have done and outperforms a fast. Mines coming in the mail now lol

Pretty bummed out, taken me a long while. But got the passenger head torqued, put on the driver side head and torqued the m11 bolts, fel pro tty bolts btw. Then went to torque the m8 bolts to 22 pounds last pass and the 3 middle bolt holes stripped. Don't know what my next move is, really don't wanna pull the head and retap but I have to, unless someone has a better idea. Took my time chasing the threads and blowing em clean. Just my luck though

Man that really suck. But why use stock head bolts on "cream of the crop" cylinder heads? Get some ARP head bolts or studs, you have ARP cam bolts, why not on those heads? Oh well, no choice but to tap the threads. Good luck man.
