MMS 220 Build for "Ghost Hawk"

In other news, here is how the chassis tear down went:
When I took the torque arm off, this metal/oil mud came oozing out the case:

Further removal of stuff, and here's an example of how bad the bearings were shot. Video2142.MOV
I'm probably lucky I made it home. Thing is, I've NEVER hard launched the car, and I have NEVER run stickies on it out of fear for the axle. For those of you still on the ten bolt planning a higher end NA build, better budget for the rear. It's not gonna hang on long.
Learn from my poor decisions

Next car I build, the chassis will be first: tubular K, SFC, coilovers, rear axle, etc. Honestly, I would tell anyone to gear it first if you're planning a build, because you're gonna want the gear as you build the motor anyway, and you can get a nice seat of the pants boost now while you're saving up from a good gear upgrade. And the tubular K for all the room to work on the motor going forward. As soon as I put it in, the very next repair I did, I was very glad I had the K swapped and wished I'd done it sooner.
First off, on the tear down, the carrier bearings are gone, and the outer axle bearings are gone. it might actually be rebuildable, but needs new axle shafts:
Look what arrived from Burkhart Chassis!
Don't know how well you can see it, but the axle bearings had failed and cut a groove into the shaft
Again, not sure how well you can see it, but the oil in here is loaded with metal grit
Bump Steer Kit
Axle Shafts
Torque arm, DS loop, and cross member, and SFC's
MGW shifter right out of the box!
Third gen conversion spindles.
Here's the axle and center section all nice and black powder coated
Axle with torque arm mounted. no commentary about how messy the garage is!
Axle going in nicely. Not much effort at all
Axle with torque arm mounted
Showing the tunnel mount crossmember
Housing to body clearance. Burkhart mounts the TA low, so I had no problems at all
All that room for the torque arm in the tunnel!
And, fully mounted
Here's the Burkhart third gen spindle mounted up, and the bump steer kit installed
It's not that big of a deal, you just need to BFH-mod the tunnel some:
Kooks true duals - no problem. Went right over
Another look at the true duals fitting nicely
Had to BFH mod the tunnel right here
Clearance achieved! It ain't much, but it counts!
Took a break, went to a D-Backs game. My friend caught a foul ball!

Strange front brakes - interference between 2-pc rotor and bracket bolt. With the one-piece rotors, I doubt it would have been an issue. Had to countersink the bolt to clear the rotor
2.5" between housing and bumps with the suspension fully loaded - axle housing on jackstands, car weight fully supported by coilovers
MGW shifter mounted on the tailshaft housing
MGW shifter and wideband harness. The harness is four miles long, so I had to cram it into the center console, but keep it out of the way of the shifter. Yeah, I kept the stock handle (for now) and the interior needs dusting. Sue me.

Splines are twisted. Also, looking up in the tailhousing, to see if splines on tailshaft were also twisted, found the bushing dislodged. So, I get to drop the transmission. Yay.
As to the yoke, it's the stock yoke. Gonna order a carbon DS anyway, so I'll do the strange yoke for sure. I have been pretty impressed with most everything strange does.
