Default Line Bore=Shorter timing chain?

Recently started the 3rd build of my LH6 engine.

Found the line bore was off by .002. Shop I believe said would need .005 to straighten it out. They mentioned I should get shorter chain as it would now be sloppy. Block is equipped with the plastic tensioner if you will.

I have yet in my research to see #1 anyone mention something similar. #2 I haven't found a vendor selling a shorter chain online looking (haven't called anyone yet).

I currently have a JP 5623t billet double roller with very minimal miles.

Opinions?

Also on a secondary note, Looking for a decent 3.80 piston suitable for boost application. Looks like Wiesco is only one offering a nice piston but a lot more than I'd like to spend ($805)

I've looked at JE but only see 3.79 option, and also $760.

Not using a Mahle or sealed power. Any other options suggestions for a more reasonable replacement?

Dont the new oversized bearings put everything back to stock axis location? That should result in everything being in the factory location.
Or am I missing something?

You can also contact Cloyes, I believe they make sets for your situation. Ask for tech support when you call.

A shorter chain is usually required after a line bore, especially if material was removed from the block half of the bore. I recently had a line bore done and bought -.005 Cloyes double-roller chain for it. Unfortunately, the line bore was not done properly and I decided to abandon that block, bought a new LS2 block from Summit and no longer need the undersize chain.

Tried installing it on the new block but it was too tight for comfort. Let me know if you can use it. I can post up a pic if you want, but other than the single undersized link having a different color, it looks like any other double-roller chain.

I wonder if the cloyes chain will fit my current JP setup.

I will have to wait until the crank goes into the block to get an accurate new Center-Center measurement. Then go from there.

Thanks for responses, has been helpful
