Default Looking for 5.3 aluminum block what years?

I'm hunting for a aluminum block 5.3 and auto trans for a swap, due to price, sure I'd like a LS2-3, but people want a small fortune around here. What years did the aluminum 5.3 come and what vehicles? I've seen 2004, is that the only year? What vehicles am I looking for?

Thank you!

The L33 and LC9 are the two aluminum 5.3L blocks that I'm aware of. If I'm not mistaken, the L33 is the Gen III design and the LC9 is the Gen IV design.

There was also an LM4 5.3L for the 2003-2004 Years which would be found in SSR, Trailblazer EXT, Envoy XL, Ascender as well as the Buick Rainier.

This would also be a gen3 engine.

2007 saw the SUVs and some trucks use the aluminum 5.3 engine... Horrendous oil usage when the rings start to go... See quite a few customers burn thru 2+quarts in under 2500 miles... Their low oil level light comes on... Only the '07s though.
