My car started after my heads and cam build and is barely any louder then the stock cam and springs.

Might have a small exhaust leak but I'll give it a few more inspections before tuning.

Very impressed

I HOPE to have to have report tomorrow on the first set installed in one of the driving experience road cars at LVMS. They were going to take them apart but with no issues they haven't.

SOMETIMES, no-news can actually BE good news.

I'm like you though, I'd love to see them after getting a good workout.

I am told the cars see 100's of miles per week. First trunnion upgrade has been in since early February of this year.

Any possibility of a group buy on these? Seems there's a lot of interest

I can't see any grooves? I do see some scuffing on the surface, but as long as the surface is intact, as in not shedding, then they should be fine.

Just to clarify, our trunnions are NOT from Comp, nor are the bearings, snap rings or any other part, and we have exclusive 12 point bolts.

We sell the bushing kits if anyone prefers them.

Probably fell out when he pulled them apart. I do not see any grooves in those and the bearing surface looks nice.

I recently installed the BTR kit in a bone stock LQ9 rebuild.

I installed them in the under the impression that the stock needles could come loose, installed the BTR kit and wondered what the difference was?

Should I swap them or what?

It fell out when I took them apart... The grooves can be seen and the bearings started to cut into the trunnion-- also remember, only about 1000 miles on these. The trunnions should be made from a high grade Timken Steel so the bearings can't cut into them. T&D uses 8620 steel, deep case hardened and tempered for wear resistance and strength. T&D doesn't recommend their rockers be run on the street and I'm not comparing them to a $130 trunnion upgrade, but more quality needs to built into street trunnions.

I recently installed the Straub (Smith Bros.?) bushing kit but my rockers were already out. Frankly, this specific bushed trunion kit seems pretty darn new yet. If your vehicle is running, I would not swap them at this time. I think you are in a good position to wait for some longer term results on this new trunion kit.

My Comps were destroyed and because of that fact, I bought the Straub kit and installed them in the extra set that I had. I them pulled the Tooley trunnion set that was in the car because after seeing the Comp kit damage, I didn't trust them even with only ~1000 miles on them. In the Straub kit went and they have been great so-far. I pulled three of the Tooley trunnions apart because someone asked me to and the bearings had started to cut into the trunnion slightly. I'm not bad-mouthing anyone's product, but more quality needs to built into trunnions or everybody's engines are at risk.

They will be destroyed and your motor is eating metal particles right now.

The trunions posted appear to be fine.

Let me clarify first and foremost, many variable's can and will contribute to the damage on trunions that have been shown in pictures.

1. Spring pressures
2. Valve-train weight
3. Camshaft lobe design
4. Lubrication (Effectiveness and Efficiency)
5. Lifter preload

Just a few to get people thinking.

I specifically asked for accelerated wear data to support this new trunion kit when it hit the market. Nothing was ever and has ever been supplied.

Decided to try a set for my own experimentation as I had my doubts knowing the limitations of bronze. LS engines typically run (idle 30lbs - upper rpm range 60lbs) of oil pressure when hot. Oiling is less than desirable in the upper half of the engines unless chamfering modifications have been made to help alleviate sharp edging and radius areas on the block and head's.

The last two oil changes in my 06 LS2 20K mile Corvette have shown with bronze particulates inside the oil filter, although none was apparent in the drained oil from careful inspection the ~500 mile changes.

Too many are jumping this bushing bandwagon due to the fact it's something new. (myself included)

I had a couple of detailed conversations with Chris about this product and I'm not bashing, rather sharing my experience that I spoke of earlier. the only positive proponents of this product appear to be the one's marketing it's sale.
