Default Any suggestions?

Last year the engine in my 2002 Trans am developed a bad knock due to the oil pump seizing. So i figured i should as least upgrade some of the parts that were destroyed. Some were upgrades just for budget reasons. Some of the things that were changed were:

Ls9 Cam (plan on eventually supercharging)
Ls2 Springs
P/P and milled 241 Heads
Bore and resleeved block .020
New pistons and rings
Ls7 Clutch
SLP Oil Pump

Any suggestions on something else i should update/upgrade? Any guess as to what i would be looking at horsepower wise?

I see you milled the heads yet also plan to supercharge. Those two don't normally mix well. Was this a light mill for cleanup purposes? Are you planning for a blower /soon/ or is this a long way off? If the latter, go with a much different cam and just keep the LS9 for later..or go with something else altogether later.

They were milled to clean the heads up. I plan on superchargering within the year.

I think you can do a lot better than the LS9 cam but it would cost you a little more. What kind of supercharger are you planning?

Are you aware you will need to source a LS2 style(front cam sensor) timing cover and sensor, as well as a 1x, single bolt cam gear? Funny; we were just discussing that here:

Welcome to the forums.

My suggestion(s):

Call Martin Smallwood for a cam.
Get a high volume oil pump, not just a reworked high pressure stock pump.
Get Brian Tooley Platinum Dual springs, not "LS2 springs".
If you are reslevving your block, go with 4.125" ductile iron sleeves, gives you 388ci with the stock 3.622" crank.

1. Dont resleeve the block, just go .005 over and call it good. If it doesnt clean up go with a new block. For the cost resleeveing an ls1 block is a bad idea

2. You should not use a double spring unless the cam calls for it. If you were going to use an ls9 (not a good idea) look at the TSP low lift cams that use the ls6 springs. If you want something a little more aggressive I'm sure they can help you with that.

3. The melling high volume not a good idea. Use the melling high pressure. There are instances where the high volume has caused issues with pumping more than the pan holds. They are normally used on ls3 lsa etc which hold more oil.

look into new lifters and timing set as well.

Sorry forgot to list that. I got a ls2 timing cover and cam sensor extension. The cam is a 3 bolts actually.

I got a new timing set forgot to list that. The block was bored to remove out of round and scoring. Why is it a bad idea? What were the problems that occur? I don't quite trust melling since they're pump was the one that seized previously.

Good call. I thought that thing was single bolt. Does it have the provision for the center single bolt too?

My bad, I totally spaced that I was in the Gen3 section. I know the high volume pumps are generally used with the GenIV stuff, too, I'm just an idiot. Sorry about that.
