Got the damper installed this week and got a few more little things to go. Need to install pilot bearing and steam cross over gaskets. Looking at injectors from fic to get it running flex fuel. Need to order connectors and flex fuel sensor.

Got the injectors installed last week. Last few bits and pieces will be here next week. Ordered fuel line fittings to adapt the flex fuel sensor, remote bleeder for the clutch, bolts for the pressure plate, oil catch can and a few other bits. Hope to have the engine back to the house tomorrow and installed in the k member. Getting to the home stretch now. I’m so freaking ready to hear this thing fire up!

Finally got it put back in the car this morning and a few things hooked up. Biggest pain of the whole ordeal is the damn clutch master. Been fighting with the damn thing for two and a half hours.

Good job, especially for your first LS build. I don’t know about you, but I’m still always nervous before the first fire up.

Yeah, you’re telling me!! I was super nervous it wouldn’t make oil pressure, but after a few seconds on the starter I got 40psi. Got over 60 at the few seconds running.

Got the oil catch can bracket water jetted, bent and mounted. Turned out pretty good if I do say so.

Got the transmission and drive shaft installed this morning. Took longer to do that than putting the engine in. Had to enlist the help of my wife to operate the jack for me.

Flex fuel sensor is wired now. Just waiting on my tuner to come over and rewrite the os to an 02 Tahoe with the flex fuel tables enabled.

Went through all my receipts this morning and added them all up. Build cost wasn't too bad really. Adding a spreadsheet with totals. All prices include tax and shipping if they had it. Ended up buying myself HPT to tune the car with the help of my tuner friend. Should be here by the end of next week.

Are you running a stock ecm and what all needed to be done to install the flex fuel sensor?

Yes, I’m running the stock 0411 ecm. You can do it with p59 ecm as well. All you have to do is run switched power, ground and the signal wire to pin 56 on the blue connector. Also have to change the os in the ecm to a 02 Tahoe. As that’s the only os for a 0411 ecm that has flex fuel tables. There are some other little things, but that’s about it.

I'd really like to see what all is needed and what needs to be done to make it work. I was under the impression I could only tune for C85 because the E85 is inconsistent and the factory ECM was not capable of running a flex fuel sensor and correcting for the alcy content. Now I'm seeing that this is just not the case!

It was pretty straight forward. Just wire in the sensor and load in the proper OS (12216125) more or less. Obviously need the supporting injectors and fuel pump. Only down side is you can only go to 2 bar setup if you're boosted. But you can switch over to a P59 PCM and go up to 3bar.

Finally got hpt in and got it idling during my lunch break today. Sounds pretty good for open headers.

Got a great start tuning on the T/A. Put 45 miles on it today. Sounds great and getting better with each tune. Here’s a good video of it at idle.
