Measured the bearing end on my rod set. All were within a tenth. Doing wrist pin bores after work.
Update: did the wrist pin bores and there was only 2-3 tenths of clearance. So I'm going to hone them out to 9 tenths to get the right oil clearance.

Good to see this thing being built properly. Piston pin clearance is often overlooked and finding only .0002-.0003" clearance in your rods should be a lesson to those who don't check.

Yeah, that's what our engine builders preach. Easy to blame a part failure when you didn't measure anything, and just hope the manufacturer got it right.

Finished the cylinder bores today they actually look really good for the mileage. Got the mains put back on going to measure those on Tuesday. Did a quick check of them seemed to be within spec.

Just curious about those heads , they have a cnc program run on them correct ? I'm not sure who Head flow research is , they weren't done by AFR were they. Can you post up pics of the bowls runners and chamber work done .

No they were hand ported by a guy I work with. That's the name of his side Business. I have some pictures. I'll get better ones in the morning. Didn't really do any work to bowls.

Check the oil clearance on the rods today. They were a little on the big side. So I'm going to order a few sets of 1 under bearings to pull them back into spec.

I ended up buying a new crank versus the old one being turned down or buying bearings. For the few bucks more of buying the new crank it is well worth the peace of mind.

Crank is at the machine shop getting the reloctor ring installed. Going into the shop Sunday to hone out the bores for the new pistons. Can't wait to start doing pre-assembly. Finally start feeling like I'm moving forward with the build after buying all these parts.

Got one cylinder bank most of the way done today! Have to do a final pass to knock down the peaks from the initial pass. Got the deck height measured too. Was with in half a thousands.

Final hone is done!! All the cylinders are within two tenths and cylinder tapper as well. Got to give a big shout out to my buddy Jonathan for doing the work. I just helped where I could during. Spent about two hours cleaning once he was done.

*****! I was hoping to get away with not having to line hone the block, but I'm not so fortunate. Went through measuring the main bore housings and they were a little big. Changed the bolts since I was using the factory type TTA bolts thinking maybe they had streached. The measurements stayed the same.

Yeah, it's defiantly an advantage when you can walk up the hall and talk to an Engine builder. They build some pretty sweet stuff.
