The camshaft retainer plate sure could cause low oil pressure if a new one wasn't used and or the new one had gotten contamination between the block and plate or if the block wasn't cleaned before install or if the old one was reused and was leaking enough..
Hope this helps ya out man

Cam retainer plate is a very very common leakdown point for oil pressure. A cam swap that reused that plate would certainly exacerbate the issue.

I run a thin layer of permatex ultra blue on that cam retainer plate. The thin factory orange rubber seal on any decent mileage lsx has cracked/has gaps in it.

A new Melling High Volume oil pump was also installed with the cam...Im thinking the O-Ring was not seated on the oil pump? I changed oil & filter when I got it home, and put some 20w50 in, and oil pressure went back up over 40 when starting, and around 40 when driving...I have not changed it again to 10w30 or 40 to see if maybe it was oil or filter related from the install...but the oil was new when cam was installed

Same goes for the retainer plate.. though it wont aerate as much... i dealt with this problem of both for years with my 6.0, too lazy to do anything about it much, so i just ran 20w50 or straight 50 which in turn gave me no aeration/bubbles... though that heavy of oil isn't good for the lifter roller to cam lobe oiling at idle... i wouldn't think anyways...
Hope this helps in some way

Havent checked for any bubbles...Im heading down to Pat G tomorrow to get the tuned fixed...Once home this weekend I will check tho...and will also change oil to 10w40 and see what the pressure is...Just irritates me my pressure was always great with the stock oil pump running 10w40 and after cam install and new oil pump, its gone to crap
