New camshaft is pitted
2 weeks ago I received a new Edelbrock camshaft in the mail after cleaning it up I discovered little pits on a lobe. I called the distributor and they quickly sent out another one. Well today I was cleaning the replacement camshaft and found more pits on this one than the first. Is this normal? Will the roller lifters roll right over these or is it going to wear out the rollers. I'm still waiting on a response back from Edelbrock.

Skspeed called me back and are sending me a 3rd cam. They have been a stand up company so far. I haven't received anything from Edelbrock though. Fingers crossed the 3rd one is a charm. If not I'll be going with a different manufacturer. I'll check out Cam Motion and see what they offer.

Just my opinion though and everyone has their own.

Send that camshaft back and I'll help you into a Texas Speed camshaft. With the brand new landis lt1 ve camshaft grinder we can build the most advanced ls camshafts available to the market.
No worry about
No worry about
- camshaft peeling
- squealing
- loud valvetrain noise
- camshafts cores without gun drill to save $10
- lobes that are lazy because of out dated camshaft grinder technology
