Default Why won't my motor turnover???

99 FRC vette I just finished head, cam, intake, headers upgrade and motor will not turn over by hand. My heads are 243s milled 30 and torqued to spec. Should I start at removing the rockers and pushrods and give it a try? If that doesn't work what's my next step? Motor ran fine before upgrade. Thanks a lot guys.

What cam. What head gaskets, push rod length ????
Did you reuse the original lifters ??? What rockers ??
Did you check piston to valve clearance ???

How did you install the cam?

Did you verify the cam spun over after installing the plate and cam gear?

Did you support the lifters between pulling the old one out and installing the new one?

I'm about 99% certain that a 242 intake lobe barely clears un-notched with unmilled heads. Yours being whacked thirty most likely is your locked engine issue

Pull the rockets and pushrods and see if it will roll over with a wrench on the balancer bolt

I pulled the rockers and pushrods no change. The motor turns counter clockwise and clockwise and stops at the same spot. I'll have the heads off to inspec the pistons for marks tomorrow.

Definitely measure piston to valve clearance when apart even if no marks. Cam specs are pretty similar to my old Vindicator and with 243's milled a little more than .030" my fly cuts were .100" intake and .080" exhaust if I remember right.

That PtV clearance will be too tight with those heads and that cam...

Are you sure those are the right pushrods as well? .30 milled heads would use a different length than a stock pushrod size I would imagine?

what were your cam specs? Do you remember what your ptv was and how much you took off your heads?

Well, You are using a stock pushrod length with a milled head which tells me you didn't measure. Also, .030 with that much lift I would imagine would require a fly cut due to PTV issues unless you use an oversized head gasket.

I believe its possible you may have some PTV clearance issues. Especially considering the duration of the camshaft listed and the amount of material removed from the heads.
