Default Fresh 5.3 oil pussure
I have a rebuilt 5.3 with cam and 243 heads the oil pressure gauge will be 40 on start up but when come to a stop it'll drop to 20 hit the throttle it will go up... the first day truck was running never went under 40 is it broke in or should I change oil has new oil pump

You might want to try a thicker oil.

I have 10w 30 in it going to change to 5w 20 late this week

5w 20 is thinner than 10w 30. You want thinner oil? It will show lower pressure.

What don't you like about 10w 30? Do you want more oil pressure or less?

Why do think there is an issue with your pressure readings? Does the pressure climb 10psi/1000rpm? If so, it is fine.

Well the first day I drove the truck with the fresh motor the pressure was 35-40 never went under now it's only there if I get on it
