BTW-I made 385hp and 390tq w/ factory heads!
At the VERY LEAST go with a TR220 on a 114. With a nice cat-back you will sound COMPLETELY factory, but with nice gains.

Yes, the lobes aren't the current latest and greatest, but that can still be a good thing.
TR lobes are similar to one of the most agressives lobes out there - the XE-R's from Comp.
The more high rpm use the motor will see, the sooner springs will need to be changed. More agressive lobes also speed that up.
yes, you can gain slightly more HP from overcamming with radical cams at the expense of drivability
also ask those people how their low-end TQ is now
Also for reference my Comp Cams 216/216 cam produced 397/394 SAE through stock heads.
That is a very respectable cam, XE or XE-R lobes.
The CC216/220 does not idle like stock, it doesn't idle bad but if you know anything about LS1's you'll know its not stock with that cam in it.
I've heard several TR224 cammed cars and I can definately tell you they are nowhere near stock stock sounding. You will absolutely be able to tell a car with the TR224 in it is cammed. The TR224 doesn't idle bad, but it definately isn't stock. It'll sound choppy at idle.
Good luck.

A guy here does 405 rwhp with the 216/220 Xtreme cam and 550+ on nitrous. Bolt ons and 5.3 Stage II heads and SLP 1.85 rockers.
BTW, you should change your spings when you do a new cam, no question.
