LS6 243 heads without yellow springs?
I have two sets of 243 heads both pulled out of 2005 CTS-V's, I posted them on the local facebook site for sale, and a member pointed out that the heads do not have the yellow valve springs.
All I can find is that they were on the 02-04 Z06 motors, but nothing on the CTS-V. And of course since they do not have the yellow springs, prospective buyers believe they are LS2 heads and not LS6.
Any information about this would be great. I can post pictures of the heads as well if necessary

Who gives a flying frack what springs are on the heads...if you're going through the trouble of swapping heads, how many people are actually going to use the old yellow springs that are on them. Seems to me like people on there are just trying to find something to gripe about. 243/799 head castings are where the money is at, not in what springs they have on them. This is why people on the internet, facebook pages specifically, are ignorant 9 times out of 10.

I also think they are looking for those yellow valve springs as a sign that the valves themselves are the low weight sodium valves. Kind of stupid if you ask me, you buy used heads and have them completely refreshed. I think some of the people in my town try going the lazy/cheap way and just bolt the heads on.

I believe the yellow LS6 springs and the blue LS2/other springs are the same besides color. One might be good to a bit more lift than the other, but Im not sure if that's true. Texas Speed and other vendors sell new yellow and blue springs if you wanted to check out if there are any significant differences.

The valves are what's worth more money. Spring color is misleading and causes a lot of confusion. If your trying to get the money real Ls6 heads bring you'll have to weigh a intake/exhaust valve to prove what they are.

Texas speed has the yellow pictures and says the ones you get are blue so I don't think there is much difference is springs.

I think the main thing is the valves in a Ls6 243 head are lighter as mentioned above.

They want to know because the LS6 heads have the light weight valves. All other 243 heads have the regular valves. I thought the LS6 springs were yellow or blue.

These springs look like they are just a normal metal color, not blue or yellow.
Yet they were in fact pulled from 2 different LS6 containing CTS-V's. I have both motors they came from too
