I don't think the OP can go wrong with Frankenstein, PRC, AI or TEA stage 1 heads. I will say this, I have the PRC stage 1 heads and even with the stock cam, the heads pull hard from about 2000 rpm up. Even thought the intake port is quite a bit larger than stock 853/241 heads they aren't too large.

TSP is $750 for stage 1. Some of the other companies are around $1000.

I think Frankenstein is $1250, TEA is $1350, AI is $1500. Those are assembled with .660 (I think) ti valvetrain

I had mine reassembled with stock valves and springs since I was keeping the stock cam for the time being.

Any feedback or results? I'm taking my 243's to my tuner this coming up Tuesday for Frankenstein's stage 1 CNC work. Pretty excited

Default Frankenstein S1 heads

These look like the heads i will be going with. With an small intake runner only being 216cc, they must have great velocity. Adding that a EPS 222/226/ 113lsa
and a Vig.3600 stall should be an easy 11 second car.

Nice, sounds fun! My setup will be in a 96 c1500. Fresh rebuilt SBE ls1, FED stage 1 243's, BTR stage 2 LS1/2 cam. Probably 36-3800 stall, 4.30's. First build for me so it should be fun

FYI, the info on their website is wrong. I guess the person that did their website got numbers mixed up.

From FED on 1/11/18:

224cc intake

Int
0.200/148
0.300/226
0.400/263
0.500/294
0.600/304
0.700/309

Exh.
0.200/108
0.300/150
0.400/176
0.500/208
0.600/221
0.700/228

Numbers still climb all the way to .700. Not sure if I'll take full advantage of that with my setup but impressive #'s. Anything around this price range is all going to be within a few rw #'s anyways. Dropping my 243's off with my tuner tomorrow

Based on all of the research that I did:
- FED has a smaller intake runner than AI, TEA, WCCH, or PRC.
- FED's stage 1 heads actually flow MORE at .2 and .3 than stage 1 or 2 from all 4.
- Only TEA stage 2 flow more at .4, but with a 229cc runner.
- Only TEA stage 2 flow more at .5. PRC flows the same but has a 225cc runner.
- All 4 flow more a .6, but that doesn't matter for most of us.

for the price, you can't beat it. $1150 and springs included. AI doesn't include a spring kit with their CNC programs. If they're still available, turnaround time for mine will be very little. They mentioned they had some on the shelf ready to go. What cam do you plan to run with your setup? compression? etc.

sticking with my current cam. I can't find the specs, but it is something around 234/235 .590/.610. no clue on the LSA. The car put 404 to the tires with a stock rear with 4.10 gears. 388 with a Dana 60 and a vacuum leak.

I'm sticking with the base compression, since I'm not 100% sure on the cam.

Nice! I'm leaning towards the BTR stage 2 for the ls1/2, but I'm itching at the stage 3 also. Just depends what the tuner suggests of course. First build for me so I'm learning the ropes

I'm debating having the combustion chamber machined too.

For anyone looking, this is what I've found with a google search on the Stage 1. I'm sure someone from FED can give you numbers as well

When I e-mailed them, they told me 224cc, but the test bore was 4.03"
