That’s impressive for sure. Looks as good...or better actually, than shops I’ve used to clean parts.
Have you put a mic on anything yet, to see what needs to be done?

Only have a few done so far. Rest will happen after the new year.
Thanks for the suggestion

Looks like you are doing a great job of cleaning! Looks like this engine has been opened up before? the brass block plug has pipe wrench-Channel lock teeth marks on it? I heated the one on my similar mess then took the proper hex wrench to it and it came right out.. Lotsa crud behind it. I used oven cleaner on the outside of the block and it worked with some elbow grease...Keep at it!!

Well I gave my buddy the potential budget on making this wreck right, and he toyed with the idea of replacing his wife’s 230,000 mile 5.3 in her 2002 Suburban, but ultimately picked up a good used LQ4. After seeing all my time invested so far he said,”It’s all yours man, free core”
So it will sit for a while till I can get back at it with some cash. Sucks but I now feel like it deserves another life. Like it’s some kinda personality or something. Geesh, I have an addiction
Thinking I’m gonna start a new AA program for Automotive Anonymous

Again because it’s free.
Don’t have a car for it and it might be difficult to even break even trying to market a 300 inch Mill. Did some finagling today so we shall see.
Seems quite unlikely that I could do this for under $750 bucks. And while I’m thinking about it; gonna Hit this dude up for my other free 862 casting head.
