went to State Capitol Raceway Sunday. Da was close to zero . This was 2nd pass, 1st was a 10.54,10.50, a couple of bad tires spinning passes, a 10.52 and 10.60.
Best mph was on the 10.52 pass , went 129.96 mph. Still need to get on a scale but its damn close to 3900 race weight. This was through the exhaust, next time will be through cutouts or 3" exhaust. Will make decisions on that this week. 31hp lost through exhaust, I can see 10.20s to 10.30s in it.
My 8" converter didn't 60ft like I expected it to. The exhaust change gains the most down at the hit so I'll get data from then and decide on sending in the converter to Fti to get adjusted. I was shifting at 7900 ish and falling back to 6200 on the shifts. That alone could be worth a couple tenths
Good data to go on and figure out what I want to adjust to get it down fo 10.0 at some point not sure I'll ever stop looking for more.

We didn't get to make it to the track but I have your number saved.

Good to see that you're getting down the track and putting down good power. Nice 60' time, were you on the 15" radial?

Yeah track was hit or miss. On 275x60x15 mt pros. Not the pro bracket radial, the street pro.

New best at No problem raceway last night. DA wasnt as good but the track was better than state Capitol is. Ran with no exhaust which surprisingly only gained me a tenth.
the rest came from raising 2step up from 3500 -4500

Was falling 1700 to 1800 on the shifts.

this is an FTI 8" converter for a 4l80. Only one in existence from them, to keep it street friendly it had to be tight since no lock up.
but to be this tight defeated the purpose of going 8" in the first place.
. After talking with Justin , we are only going to loosen it up 300-400 on the shifts, any more required a big change and will build more heat . More heat would require stopping and cooling off the transmission on drives above ever it 50 miles as it would creep up.
. It flashed to 5200 and would go all out on the transbrake to 5600. Not sure how much the change will effect launch but it should be an improvement all around for my combination. Honestly I could have changed the intake to something like a fast 102 and it would have put me in a lower power band and worked great all around.
I like shifting up high and like to party so for now this will be the course of action.

also because I will still fall 1300-1400 on the shifts, I can spray a 125 shot already on the car just not being used. This wont happen until I put the roll bar in migh wife is on me about doing.😁

So to be clear... the wife WANTS you to spend money on the racecar...

roll bar at wizard race cars is 2500 . Drop off as is and pick up ready. Painted, removable door bars and 4 point harness installed.
. I .should add in enough for double adjustable shocks and chassis set up on scales😁

I had a sticker on the back of my hauler in my circle track days that said “We interrupt this marriage to bring you the racing season”
My wife actually liked it. She worked at the track we raced at primarily, when she was a teenager, in the concession stand. I came home from work several evenings through the years and found her out in the shop, doing body rivets to help me get it back together for the next Saturday night race.

Had my converter restalled so the shifts dont drop 1700 to 1300-1400 on the shifts. Still not optimal for drag strip but will keep it driving good and still able to shoot a 125 shot when the time comes.
. After installing, I done another coat of wax so it shines at the track tomorrow

Converter worked great. Car ran consistently 10.36 and a best of 10.35 with 1800 above density altitude on a marginal track.
. Now im considering selling my kooks 1 7/8" headers to get 2" tsp headers. I ordered the speed engineering dual exhaust and since my kooks have v band clamps,I was going to have to modify exhaust anyway, this might be best time to get 2" headers
