I have to agree with this too. But not all do it, and usually (and hopefully!) doom themselves to failure

Very cool...............long time ago in another time we put together a 304 jeep motor, went over everything including polishing the crank etc. Started it up and it ran nice but had a funny knock. We drove it a less than 100 miles, knock got worse. Pulled the pan off to inspect everything and don't ya know we missed final torque on one rod cap. We got lucky, tightened the rod and no more trouble. Just the sheet that happens when you're involved in 40 things at one time. Engine building is stressful work!

Just thought I'd update how everything turned out . Builder took care of absolutely everything involved in the repair and helped me a little on putting it back in . Couldn't be any happier with how he handled it .

The car went on the dyno today and was very pleased with the results . It made 525HP/480tq on N/A tune and 660HP/695tq on nitrous . 6 spd car thru a 9 inch with 4:11 and full exhaust . Extremely happy camper now !

OP picked the right builder.

I would rather do business with a company that's known to take responsibility for their mistakes than with a company that's only known for not making mistakes.

It's nice to hear there are still decent businessmen out there.
Did you ever find out for sure why you did not have oil pressure up top, you said rod bolts may have been loose, just curious
if there was any other issue.

Oil spilling out of the loose rod instead of getting forced up to the heads?
