Their lighter and less abusive to the valve. The shape of the wire promotes vakve control. Typically they are made of higher quality materials to if you stick with a company like psi and a couple others.

Ive always found it strange that the typical dual spring the second spring is usually a damper spring. That means it's using another spring to control a spring. Don't sound like a great idea to me.

We run triples in our blown big blocks lol. The only engines I’ve ever destroyed were both mild cam engines with single springs. Both broke springs and dropped a valve. Not saying singles are junk or anything like that, just **** luck I’m sure. But I won’t do it again unless it’s a production cam.

I just talked to aeromotive and they rate their diaphrams to 300* so I’m going to pick up a 13132 regulator from them and use it for an oil pressure regulator.

If you're running big blocks with big solid rollers then yea triples are where it's at. But you're not......you're worried about keeping a oe valve together.

Rather large differences.

I put psi1516s shimmed up real good on my 346. Best advise i can give on springs is don't buy cheap ones. These things aren't flat tappet SBC's.

Im worried about keeping the valve train stable first, keeping the oe valve together is the second step, if they aren’t up to the task they need replaced lol

Valvetrain stability was the hole reason behind beehives/conicals.

Idk where the line is that they need replaced. But it's past 7500 rpm fo sho.

Even for a .633 split lift cam? What intake are you running to spin 7500?

I considered the msd, I’ve been wanting to try it but ED said the Holley would be better for my combo. I’ll use it eventually lol

Ive got plenty of room in this nova luckily lol.

I’m gunna go ahead and get a set of ferrea valves for it, peace of mind, every time I stand on that skinny pedal I’m going to be thinking about these valves and I just don’t want too stress over it.

My lifters showed up today, slowly but surely things are getting inline.

Agreed, it looks damn good. Can’t wait to fire this beech. Ordered my springs and my ferrea valves today, about all I’ve got left is my pushrods once it’s assembled.

Well I ordered that aeromotive regulator to build my external oil pressure regulator system, an oil cooler and some misc fittings to hook it all together. Really curious to see how this all works out. I’m going to shim the relief in the oil pump to 140# or so because I don’t want it opening period unless **** gets crazy. I’m hoping by running all of the oil through the engine a running an 8an line from the oil pressure sensor port to the regulator then back to the pan that I can alleviate some of the infamous oil pressure issues these engines and pumps are known for when turning some numbers.

Im really curious to see what kind of numbers this thing puts down with this setup. You don’t see actual high compression stuff very often, most people treat 11:1 as if it was high compression.
