Started on the heads tonight. Got them roughed in, still waiting on my finer paper and cross buffs.

Is there a difference or preference between the gm mls headgasket for ls1 or the Chevrolet performance mls gasket? Or are they the same? I cant find the gm mls anywhere.

Well, semi sad news. Got the wife’s ls1 finished torn down for the block, started measuring dss pistons and they are all right at 3.895. Checked the block with a dial bore gauge and I’m getting around 3.895 also. I considered being a cheap bastard and honing it to 3.5-4k clearance myself but instead I’m taking it over to be done in the Sunnen to be done e right.

I have some 241's here that I wouldn't mind taking at shot at hand porting. Been watching videos and gathering as much information as I can on the process before attempting it.

Ive done a few sets now, this is by far the most time and aggression I’ve spent on a pair, they are coming along pretty nice. I’ve got one side pretty much done

Yeah I see you went into the rocker arm stud bosses when opening them up. So you have to use the PTFE thread sealant on the intake bolts but I've wondered how well that works.

Haha, well it doesn’t make much sense to get rid of the hump and then leave the bolt sticking out in its place lol.

Maybe I'm keying on the wrong part of this post, but that's freaking hilarious. The guy who puts the sticker in the box grabbed the wrong thing i guess?

No doubt, it’s massive lol.

Scored an ls1 complete from intake to oil pan yesterday for $400 somehow, I’m just going to slap her cam and springs in it and put it back in her camaro.

Trying to figure out what to do here for exhaust. Normally I’d run x pipe with borla xr1 or magnaflow dumped at the back axle. Was considering keeping the x pipe and going with black widow mufflers maybe? Can’t be anything restrictive obviously
