Default 346 high compression build

Hey guys, doing yet again another project, been wanting to do a high compression n/a build for awhile. Build is as follows

346ci
dss 6cc dome pistons
brand new gen 4 rods with good bolts
polished crank, King xp bearings,
ported, polished, ls1 valves 862 heads milled .040
holley split race single plane with 4 barrel TB
.040 cometic gaskets
253/261 651/.650 cam 110

5500 stall, 4:10 gear

in my 2700# 70 ss nova

no idea what kinda power it will make, but should be fun

Sounds interesting.

Will you be doing the off set ground crank idea mentioned in the prior thread?

What fuel, transmission, rear gear and which rockers?

What will be the final compression ratio? Watching this one!

Thanks.

Correct, Ill cc them but math says right at 55,, plus I have a bigger valve in there now that takes up more space so should be right around 55.

Better check. I think you might be short of your compression goal.

I would check your piston to valve clearance, and then cut the heads as much as you can.

Definitely will want to check P-V.

55 cc's is what I came up with and 13:5.1 static assuming zero deck.

Same, not sure how much the bigger valve in there effects the space but it can only help

heres my most accurate As I can be compression ratio calculations for both static and dynamic compression.

I was considering going Solis roller but Ed told me with my budget and what I would gain just to stay hydraulic. And thank you!

Sounds like a good build cwarta. Very similar to mine. I woulda liked to have had a little more compression but ended up at 12:1. But i have a thinner ring pack and very light pistons. My gmpp 243s has been cut a total of .090 and the block .010. The 4cc valve reliefs killed compression a little. I'll be running darths old h/c ls1 camshaft.

Im considering having these cut another 20 before I install them, cheap power.

I just finished porting a did oil pump, tons of areas for improvement in these pumps. Shimmed the by pass to 120# of oil pressure and Ill be running an external oil pressure regulator in the hopes of negating the oiling issues these pumps have over 5500.
