Decent lifters are less than $200 dollars for a set and the amount of catastrophic damage they can cause your engine is enormous. Get some new lifters. I had a stock LS1 lifter decide to die on me and took out my entire engine. I wasn't even racing, just out for a cruise to a local brewery.

OP,
As for LS7 lifters. To give you an idea of how our customers feel about them check out the 50+ 5 star reviews on the SUM-HTLSKIT. These have a higher grade lifter than what can normally be found. This kit has been superseded to SUM-HTLSKIT1. The same quality and value can be expected with the new number, its just a packaging change.

Or you can have a set off ebay by thursday if you want to roll the dice with "GM LS7 lifters bulk packaged comes in plain box",
There are some on ebay right now with real GM boxes, sets of 8 for $99, but all their negative feedback is about these lifters.
I'd buy from a trusted source and cross your fingers.
Having said that about new lifters, I don't think it's a good idea to install used ones. Maybe if you bought them originally and knew they were real GM parts and they had low mileage. Otherwise no.
