Undo the "looped" heater circuit. It allows hot water to pass directly from the top of the engine right back into the "cooled" side. Kinda the same effect as, if your radiator was just a piece of hose.
Thats not the problem. So a heater works in some situations but not others? A loop is a hose without a heater core. Not the problem.

No.

It's probably not air either. If you don't want to worry about air in the system drill two 1/8" holes in the top of the thermostat.

When does it get hot, sitting? driving? What running condition makes it run hot?

Are the head gaskets on the correct side?

Get rid of the loop.

What it creates is, a hose that carries hot water out of the hot side of the motor, right straight back into the cold side, without passing through the radiator first. However much of the coolant that passes that way, DOESN'T GET COOLED.

Read that carefully: some part of the coolant DOESN'Y GET COOLED. How can this NOT be a bad thing?

May not be "The Problem", but it's SURE AS HELL not part of the solution. Whatever The Problem is, that's making it worse.

OTOH, it just MIGHT BE The Problem.

Try it and find out.

If it had a heater it would be running stagnant through a heater core instead of a loop of hose. It doesn't matter. Paint the water pump neon green that might help too.

All the time I can idle it. Hets hot or driving

I had one wierd thing happen. All a sudden it dropped to 160. Then when back up slowly

Maybe it is air.

Do you have the factory air dam in front that directs air into the radiator while driving?

A lot of people have had their cars run hot when the air dam is removed, and have run cooler with one installed.

I wouldnt buy them, but I have no experience with them.
Stock 243's work great, and I would actually run 706 heads for the extra compression

Leak down check is good so my next step is I'm gonna pick up the radiator about a foot maybe its having a problem on top hose since radiator is so low. If that dont work I'll have to get a dummy radiator and switch them out even though mine is brand new

So all I can say is. Maybe my steel lower pipe is to close to exhaust. That's all I got.

No way that would radiate that much heat into the hose to overheat the engine like that. What does it do when you drive it down the street?

From your previous post, are you saying it gets hot only when driving or only when idling?

Heres the water pushing out top of water pump that goes to top radiator.
