Oil pressure issues help

I need some help can someone please guide me to a form related to oil pressure issues on the 5.3 L LS. A few weeks back I changed the O-ring pick up tube , new oil pump, and sensor and still have low oil pressure at idle. When driving, oil pressure sits at 40.
Is this engine worth rebuilding or just junk ?

How many miles on the engine? Regular oil changes?

What is low at idle? have you checked with a manual gauge?

40 psi @ what rpm? Idle? Supposedly you can get by on 10 psi per 1000 rpm. Try going to higher than 4000 and see what you get.

What year 5.3? 2007 and up have strainer below pressure sensor. Easy to measure oil pressure with mechanical gauge on driver side of block towards front (before filter) or above filter (after filter - before sensor strainer, if equipped)? Oil filter new? Filter will cause ~8psi drop if clogged and oil having to go through bypass.

The engine has 250,000 on it not sure how well it was taken care of( as far as oil changes go )

and riding rpm was right around 2k-2500 ( stock everything.

It’s an 2005 5.3L came of a Silverado.
