Default Oil Pans

I was going to use an F body pan on my 5.3 turbo, street and strip build but I've heard of problems, oil starvation, sucking air and so on. I don't really want to band aid the problem by over filling like some suggest so what is everybody using for an oil pan? This is a budget build and from what I've found the cheaper pans require a remote oil filter. I got the F body pan with the engine when I bought it and I done have a new pick up, plus I have no clearance problems as far as cross member.

What is the application? Car make, model, year? Type of use?

Would a truck pan be too deep? It has a low sump that would alleviate sloshing and starving the pickup.
That said, the F-body pan is a decent design, but the one quart over fill is good insurance for drag racing when the oil goes up the back wall of the pan.
Also, make sure the pickup close enough to the bottom as per spec.

If you don't use the F-Body pan I would like to buy it from you.

F body oil pans are like $100 new.
An Improved Racing baffle fixed my oiling issues with my F body pan at the track, but it costs twice what I paid for the pan.

As said above, contact Improved Racing. They offer solutions to keep the oil in the sump.

I thought about the truck pan, I need to crawl under my truck and measure the depth and check it out. If I went with the pans that use the remote filter, are there any draw backs? I could run a bigger filter that way. I'll check out Improved Racing also. Bbond105, if I don't use it I'll message you, I have a new pick up for it.

Thanks guys! Here's our direct bolt-in baffle for the F-Body pan: https://www.improvedracing.com/ls1-c...an-baffle.html

You can pull 1.4 sustained lateral G's with this without drops in oil pressure. We also recommend overfilling the sump by 1/2 quart, up to 1 quart if needed.

Looking at my pan and the $200 pan baffle you can buy, I think I can cut the old one out, leaving some of it in there, and make a baffle. Trap door, piano hinge and all. I've built pans before for the BBC's years ago when I couldn't afford to buy the high dollar ones. You could even make it removeable for cleaning the pan. You need to keep the oil in the sump if the car leaves hard but also during hard braking and I don't think it'd be that hard.
