I got this car a while back with no engine and I have been building a lq4 that I picked up. I have the rotating assembly done and Im starting on the oil system. I have a stock replacement oil pump that I will clean up with a cartridge roll. Should I change the spring? I have a nice cam and the 243 heads are ported so I should get nice power but Im not going to race it just street driving.
Also What king of oil pan do I need? I have one from a 2000 truck but I have heard it will not fit.
The stock oil pump and spring will be fine for your situation.
The truck pan hangs down quite a ways, likely below the crossmember, which you do NOT want to happen.
An F body pan will work for you.

fbody pan will not fit unmodified. Either pan or sub frame need modified to run a fbody pan. There are pans that fit if you search the swap forum. Last I remeber Lostar had some nice cheaper swap pans.

There is also another pan that Holley makes for stroker LS engines- 302-3
I would just get a new oil pump, they're roughly around 100.00.
I Used the Holley 302-3 on my Chevelle, specs show it fits 1st gens too. nice pan but $$$. The -3 clears a 4" crank if you ever decide to take the LQ4 to 408cid and has turbo drains built in. I heard there is a -4 coming that slightly cheaper and doesn't have turbo drains but it the same casting as the -3
