Default ls2 crankshaft on ls1

Hello friends, I bought an LS1 engine and later realized that its crankshaft is actually for an LS2. No other changes were made—neither in the wiring, nor in the ECU, nor in the sensors. Since I didn’t know about this issue, I started the engine. At idle it runs fine, but when the RPM drops or the engine goes under load, there’s a massive explosion sound from the exhaust. Do you have any solutions to fix this in the most low-cost way?

You need to get wideband asap and log scan the car to see what everything is doing. Explosion does not sound good and maybe a lean detonation problem which you can destroy the engine if you keep trying to run it.

The bots are out in full force on a lot of car forums, because the mods are at PRI.

Isn't the LS1 and LS2 crank the same throw?

They are. Only difference is the Reluctor Wheel. 24X or 58X.

Atleast people are on board with the bot bullshit in here.

We get a lot of bots in here. I’ve discussed making our sign up process a lot trickier with our admins, and they don’t see the reasoning. So we will deal with the bots as we can. I ban prolly 2-3 bots a week, every week.

"We get a lot of bots in here"
Question: What does a Robot gain by entry to a forum? It seems apparent that Robot is not buying, nor building a motor.
What is the end goal of building post count ?

The error codes I had were from the MAP sensor, which I replaced with a new one. Now there are no codes or faults, and everything seems healthy

No, this post isn’t from a bot. My English isn’t very good, and when I use Google Translate it makes it sound like some robot is asking you about 24 and 58 tooth wheels!

In your opinion, what’s the best solution: replacing the crankshaft or using the TRG-002 module

AI that's fishing for info for search sites such as Google, Amazon, etc. It's AI that's basically in here reading what's posted so when someone goes to Google and types in something to search it'll pop up the thread there. That's just one example of many. It's been happening for years just more now.

It is also my understanding that the early LS2 had a 24t reluctor. The later LS2 had the 58. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. When exactly the change was made, IDK. As with everything, check, check, and check again.....

I think the early GTO was 24X. If a real post maybe someone put a 58X in a LS1.

Corvettes were all 58X. Early GTO had 24X.

I suggested making the signup procedure multi-step with questions and boxes to check. I see other automotive forums doing this, and according to them it’s working so far. I realize the abilities of AI are quite intelligent in some forms, but the typical AI bot trying to get on Tech isn’t our military grade Terminator style AI bot….at least not yet. I thought it would be worth a try. Site admins thought it would seem too difficult and would deter new memberships. Ok.
