When doing a head swap...
Does the amount of tq you apply to the streach bolts change if you are using a graphite gasket or MLS gaskets?
I was also considering Head studs, how hard are those to install?
thanks

Gaskets do not affect the torque. And yes, studs are the way to go. Studs are really easy to install. They also help when pulling the heads off next time: less time involved since no coolant will get in the block holes and you don't have to clean out the holes either.
Studs are ~$250. Once you clean the holes in the block, *lightly* coat the coarse threads with some oil and thread them into the block by hand. Once the head is on...put the washers and nuts on with some moly lube. Torque them in sequence.

Unless you plan on switching heads frequently or are going to have really high cylinder pressure, I'd just use the OEM bolts. $250 for studs that you're never going to see the benefit of is just a waste. Also, if you have the 845 heads, you cannot use the MLS gaskets, or they will leak coolant.
