Default Morel lifter experience?

Does anyone have any reports on the newly-released Morel hyd roller lifters? I'm considering them for this Winter's engine upgrades, wanted to see if anyone has any run-time on these yet and results to report.

Does anyone have more information on this morel lifter part #4708? Like what pre load that it wants. Or a contact at morel? I have installed this and any more that .060 will open the valve up so I know its less than .060 (or any more than 1 1/2 turns of my harland sharp bolts after zero lash).I really do not want to guess at this. I was under the impression these were a "drop in replacement" for stock so the lash shoud be at .090( around 2 turns on stock GM bolt). All I can tell is they came from the "gear company of america" in OH. Nothing else was in the brown box. I also have not been able to get a hold of the vender that I purchased them from. Thanks

Well, the Gear Company of America Inc is Morel. So I had good conversation on the preload. The idea preload is .030 with a variance of .010 in either direction. The Morel tech guy I talked to was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. ***edit ***

I'm going to kill Rick!!! The "modified" lifters are for race only and have no place in a street car unless the guy is a top notch wrench. I hope this thread dissapear's before someone from NHRA reads it.

Morel make a very nice lifter. I don't have any experience with the LS1/SBC lifters (frankly, I didn't know they made them), but their Top Fuel lifters are VERY trick, but VERY expensive. I would imagine their other stuff is just as good.

On the NHRA thing-that's an old trick that almost everybody uses in the Sportsman ranks....NHRA almost has to know about it.
