Default stroker cranks who's to use?

looking into possiblly building a stroker. wondering who's 4.00 stroke crank you are using? I have been looking at Lunati's crank and whole rotating kits but $2000 for a crank and $3600 for a kit before you even get into custom piston prices is steep. Let me know what you think. I will be using alot of n20 so this crank should be a real strong billet piece. Thanks Rich

I have the lunati 4" offset ground to 4.075". The 3600 price tag includes a set of custom pistons I believe. I went with carillo rods, and JE pistons. If you are going to run lots of nitrous you just need to get the thicker rings to handle the extra heat and pressure. The crank will take whatever you can throw at it. Cola was the only other company that has them. I got the lunati from a local guy for 1800. They also have great prices on their cams.

If you do some calling, I bet you can get the 382 kit for around $3100. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I don't think I have ever seen a new stroker crank for less than $2000, and even then the 3.900 cranks that Cola had missing the reluctor wheels (this was over a year ago).

If you see a 4.000 billet crank for sale for new ~ $2000 that's a good price, they are typically almost $3000 at most places.

I can get you a good deal on a custom Cola.

A standard Cola is about $2200, and they are made very well.

Thanks for the info I am looking into the lunati stuff. I talked with a sales man there and he said the cam prices are down because of a new cam blank avalible for the ls1 series before it was only the copper color and that is the same material used in a huge lift smallest base circle solid roller race cam. It is way overkill for a .650 lift hydrolic roller. now they just use a cheaper blank to get the cost down. Works for me. Thanks Rich P.S. goto L.A. billet check out their prices make sure you are sitting down.

Callies and Lunati have decent cranks out for our applications. If you need either of these cranks we can get them to you for a little under $2000.

Thanks eveyone for yor help. I will probally go with the Lunati crank. I am not sure who's rods and pistons to use.I am leaning towards a 6.00 rod so I can get the rings down low for the n2o. With the 6.125 rod it has a 1.123 compression height which don't leave much room to move down the rings. I want .250 doown for the top ring and .175 down to the next(2nd) ring then just squeeze in the oil ring. If I half to use buttons to instead of spiral looks to support the oil ring that is fine. I will need a good and thick crown for the n2o with a -8 cc dome to keep it around 10.6:1 compression. Thanks Rich

Here's a Lunati 382 kit for a really good price:

You can probably sell the rods and pistons to someone buying a crank-only and still not do too bad.
